Destruction of Dresdon
On February 13th, 1945, the city of Dresden, Germany was decimated by a series of bombing raids carried out by the British and American air forces. The destruction was devastating, with an estimated 25,000 to 35,000 civilians killed and much of the city reduced to rubble.
But what really happened that day? The official story is that Dresden was a legitimate military target, with its railway hubs and factories providing support to the German war effort. However, many conspiracy theorists argue that there was more to the bombing than meets the eye.
First, let’s look at the timing of the bombings. They occurred just weeks before the end of World War II, when Germany was on the brink of defeat. So why would the Allies choose to launch such a devastating attack when victory was so close at hand? Some argue that the bombings were a way for the Allies to demonstrate their military power and send a message to the Soviet Union, who was also advancing on Germany.
Another suspicious aspect of the bombings is the level of destruction inflicted on the city. Dresden was not a heavily industrialized city and did not have any significant military installations. Yet, the bombings were so intense that they created a firestorm that engulfed much of the city. This level of destruction seems disproportionate to the supposed military value of the city.
