With the Trump administration officially cutting ties with Iran in 2018, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or the Iran Nuclear Deal remains in jeopardy as the other countries look at president-elect Joe Biden for its future. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) or commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal, was an agreement reached by the Iranian government on the Iranian nuclear program. The long term deal that was signed in 2015 by the P5+1 — The United States, France, China, Russia, and Germany included several restrictions on the Iranian nuclear program after years of tension over the country’s interest in nuclear weaponry. The accord signed in 2015 was a remarkable feat in diplomacy, but the actions that followed in 2018 seemed to have offset the 2015 feat.
