The World Health Organization: Navigating the Global Health Landscape
The World Health Organization (WHO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, established in 1948 with the objective of promoting health and preventing diseases around the world. With its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the WHO is one of the largest health organizations globally, with a presence in over 150 countries and territories. The WHO’s mission is to build a better and healthier world for all, with a focus on promoting universal health coverage and access to essential health services for all people, regardless of where they live.

The WHO’s six-point health agenda includes a commitment to improving health outcomes, reducing the spread of disease, promoting health equity and access to healthcare, promoting the development of health systems, ensuring safe and effective health services, and strengthening public health research and development.
